Transitions: Stories from the Home Front is produced by journalism students in the convergence media class. Students were responsible for the creation of all of the content on this site. The 16 students in the class conducted dozens of interviews to produce the stories. The students decided on the overall issue on which they would base their coverage. They spent the final six weeks of the Spring 2013 semester gathering content in the field and creating their stories. The students collaborated in teams of four with each team member focusing on their area of expertise.

With funding from K-State's Rural Grocery Initiative, students in multiple sections of News and Feature Writing, Advanced News Writing and Photojournalism set off across rural Kansas to tell the stories of challenges faced by rural grocery stores, their owners, their employees and their communities.
